Keep at it, Amanda,

It will all work out. $18,000 of debt is nothing, don't let it weigh more on you than what it should -- keep on your loans and keep deferring them, take one online class per semester to keep the sharks at bay. Go to online school, travel, work, keep going.

Did you take the flight to Hawaii?

If you want, I have some work that you can do for VagabondJourney.com. Not much money, but a little.

Those photos look good. Make me feel as if I am there. Good job keywording the photo file names too -- that will get you more traffic and cause more people to see them.

Being a tag-a-long isn't a bad thing. True you are following in some one else's path, You are not to be doughnut girl for ever I should think. As long as you can take from it and learn from it then it's not a loss. At this you've a very precious commodity, something of which not many have, and fewer still who understand it's true value; Time. In this, it's a matter of what you make of it. Much like your experiment with the clay and such. You've time to find something you like and the freedom to pretty much run with it. You've a chance to get your hands into everything and try it out with out having to be to worried making a life of it.
As for being afraid. "Don't get lost in your head trying to find the way out, otherwise your heart may miss what's happening in."
So, Amanda I say; learn, read, sing, write, draw, capture, create, dance, love and grow. Broaden your horizons, expand your mind and enjoy your wanderings. And when you reach the end of the road, if you haven't found what your looking for, pick a direction and head that way. You possess no limitations. Run with it.

This was written in a fury. And it's true, I was/am lonely at times. I'm with a group of wonderful people though and I shouldn't complain.
I hope you're travels are going well with the new addition.
I've been having some trouble attaching pictures to my posts. Everytime I try to upload a picture it gives me this message
"Unable to create directory /home/vagabond/public_html/amanda/wp-content/uploads/2010/03. Is its parent directory writable by the server?"
Any idea what that means??
Thanks for everything Wade.

Hello Amanda,

What you seem to be going through is normal. It is hard to be out traveling on your own. I have actually found that these rough parts of traveling are often caused from too much thoughts bouncing around in the head without a way to get them out.

I have found that I like traveling while paired up with another person. There is perhaps no eloquent way to put this, but traveling with a partner is a way to give everywhere you go a sense of home, and adds the comfort of something steady.

Starting out traveling is tough for everyone, and, well, I have found it easy to get homesick as a reaction to a feeling of loneliness. I don't know what your circumstances are, but traveling with someone that you are close with often extinguishes loneliness.

Vous devriez obtenir un ami!

This sounds like a really great way to travel. Working while traveling is perhaps the height of the occupation.

Have fun,

Just found the blogs at Vagabondjourney and really enjoyed reading about your collective travels.

We are fellow travelers who share your philosophy. Amanda travels several months of the year and Scott keeps the home fires burning between trips when he joins her.

We are Couch Surfing ambassadors for Flagstaff, Arizona and wanted to extend an invitation to surf with us whever you are nearby.

We also have a little cottage business that has been on hold that involves traveling to music and other festivals. Feel free to e-mail at the address above if you are interested in hearing more.

Best of luck to you on your journeys!
